Citrix Administrator with Migration Experience



Project Duration : 6+ Months with renewable contract extensions

Employment Type: W-2 only?no C2C or 1099 please

Project Primary Location: Richmond, VA with travel required to customer site 25%

DESCRIPTION:

Application testing and Citrix Servers migration from Citrix Metaframe XP to Xenapp 4.5. Citrix support with priority tickets for newly migrated Citrix farm. Perform application updates on Presentation Server/XenApp Servers in coordination with application owners. Involved in the process of Citrix application packaging, recording, Installation Experience with Server consolidation and or Migrations. Will use Change Management Processes & Procedures - Research Application Owners, Documentation, and Installation files for upcoming Citrix Migrations - Ensure documentation and installation information in placed in a central repository . Will coordinate activities between Application Owners and Citrix Migration Team and will keep project on track by ensuring all information is obtained prior to deadlines



REQUIREMENTS:

Must have 5-6 years of experience in the Citrix server support arena/ Citrix administration in a large (100+ servers) environment

CCA certification.

Strong experience with Citrix (5-6 yrs), Microsoft Servers and Active Directory.

Experience on Citrix Migration of Citrix XP/4.0 farm to Citrix Xenapp 4.5.

Experience packaging applications via Citrix Installation Manager

Strong Wintel experience to include: Active Directory, DNS, WINS, IIS

Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, support & Implementation of Citrix XenApp environments on Wintel and VMWare platforms.

Strong network/server troubleshooting skills

Strong motivation to work with clients and understand their environment.

Experience in Change Management Processes & Procedures - Research Application Owners, Documentation, and Installation files for upcoming Citrix Migrations

Independent starter, self-motivated, not afraid to ask questions

Fluent in English



PREFERRED SKILLS:

VBScipting Knowledge (a PLUS)

VMWare experience (a PLUS)

SQL relational database skills (a PLUS)
