Based in beautiful downtown Chicago, IL, we are a leading provider of Freight (Trucking), transportation, and supply chain managements solutions. We are currently looking to hire for a FT/Permanent Logistics Engineer who will design and develop supply chain solutions by providing analytical, mathematical modelling and project management capabilities. Primary responsibility is to model network solutions in a consulting or business development environment.
Job Duties:
~Design and develop supply chain solutions.
~Identify cost saving opportunities through strategic network design, mode conversion, freight consolidation, closed loop tours and continuous moves by using modelling tools, while developing an appreciation for the aspects of the transportation industry that make solutions practical and implemental.
~Collect process and maintain data for analysis and modelling.
~Participate in business case development to demonstrate logistics value add to customers and others.
~Present modelling results to customer through written reports and oral presentations.
~Work closely with other functional teams to support the implementation and execution of proposed solutions.
Must Have Skills:
1.) 3+ years of designing and developing supply chain solutions for the transportation industry. MUST HAVE Freight & Trucking expertise.
2.) Must have experience with network optimization and transportation modelling tools such as i2 Modeler is preferred.
3.) Programming skills, AMPL, Arena, or other optimization or simulation software experience helpful.
4.) Strong time management and project management skills.
5.) The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering with an MS in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research or related field (related field must include academic experience using linear programming, simulation, or other mathematical modelling techniques to solve optimization problems).
6.) Strong PC background with working knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.
7.) Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
