DESCRIPTION
The Systems Analyst will define, plan and design client area application systems requirements for new or modified applications in the preparation of application system specifications and in the development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost effective application solutions. The consultant will install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software related problems; monitor or perform system backups and recovery; maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity; and monitor system usage to ensure adequate response time and limited downtime.
Specifically, this consultant will be responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures in completing the following tasks:
- Providing system performance optimization, maintenance and production support
- Refining conceptual system requirements into a technical design consisting of job flows and program specifications
- In coordination with the Project Manager, aiding in the systems development process, including planning and monitoring systems development efforts, coordinating activities within other groups and other sites, reviewing deliverables, and communicating to management
- In specialized systems (ie. SAP), effectively setting options to change the way the program works (configuration responsibilities)
- Evaluating existing Agile system and/or user needs to research and designing, recommending, and implementing changes to system architecture and deployment as well as providing guidance on best practices
- Installing, upgrading and maintaining the Agile server environment; monitoring and evaluating Oracle database errors and running database utilities to correct issues
- Writing documentation to describe configuration; interfacing program development, requirements and other specifications to ensure the system is appropriately managed and maintained; and writing instructions for users to describe basic troubleshooting, installation and operating procedures
- Developing and executing test protocols for Agile software releases or program interfaces to Agile
The Analyst will indicate the reporting relationships, products, budgets, throughput, level and purpose of contacts (internal and external), or other scope measures that are key to this position. This role works under general management direction but also normally determines technical objectives of assignments and exercises latitude in approach to problem and solution. The work of this consultant will be reviewed to determine if desired results and objectives have been achieved as erroneous recommendations or failure to obtain outcomes would normally result in project delays and considerable expenditure of resources. This consultant will need to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Analyst will perform a variety of complicated tasks and report to a project manager or department manager.
Qualifications: - Validation and Regulatory experience required in Quality Systems
- Direct experience required with Agile/Oracle Document Management System or other Product Lifecycle Management System software
- Demonstrated experience with business process management and an awareness of the use of information technology to improve work processes
- Proven ability to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies and procedures
- Capable of performing tasks in dynamic/changing situations and under stress
- Knowledge of Oracle database installation and maintenance
- Knowledge of business functions and systems in the Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D Areas helpful
- Bachelor Degree and four to seven years of experience
